EB3C Relay Barrier
Intrinsically Safe Relay Barriers are essential components of intrinsically safe applications. These devices limit current, voltage, & total energy delivered to a sensor or any other actuator instrument located in a hazardous area. When used in areas with hazardous chemicals, gases or other ignitable atmospheres, limiting the energy is required to prevent any possible fires & explosions from occurring. Dry contact switches can be connected to the EB3C. Illuminated switches also can be connected with the combination of the EB3S Relay and the EB3L Lamp Barriers.

Certificate for Simple Apparatus
As a manufacturer of both switches and barriers, IDEC issues the declaration of conformity for simple apparatus to remove user concerns that certification may be required for switches or about which combination of switches and I.S. barrier can be used.
This letter clarifies which IDEC switches can be used as simple apparatus in combination with IDEC EB3 barriers.
